STYLIST / COLORIST

Song joined the team in March of 2022 and has a total of 24 years in the industry; 7 years as a hairstylist and 17 years as a make-up artist. She studied and received her certification at Capri Cosmetology in New York. 

Song’s strength is enhancing her clients' hair with effortless glamour.

She loves giving her clients cuts and colors that they can style themselves. She has an eye for seeing how dimensional balayage will enhance each cut and style.

Her first love is balayage. Painting the hair is very therapeutic for her and her best work comes through in her meditative state. Song loves cutting a variety of styles from a nice textured bob to a lived-in long layered haircut. 

Song loves to connect with her clients. She effortlessly builds trust and rapport with them that allows them to explore what they do next whether it’s a new trend or a complete makeover. Song has styled a few brides’ hair and make-up and loves being a part of such a memorable, special day. 

Song has followed Erin Ray for a while and was thrilled when she heard she was opening her own salon. She thought, ”why wouldn’t I want to be part of a creative badass team in CT?! It was time for me to see what else I can do. Get uncomfortable and grow!”

Song’s clients would definitely say she’s a perfectionist when it comes to hair but her personality is laid back and goofy.

When Song is not at Obsidian, you will find her trying a new restaurant or wandering a hiking trail with her daughter. She is very family-oriented and loves exploring all that Connecticut has to offer.
